Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary

Most people are able to reflect on experiences that have shaped their life. I am no different. Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary molded my mind and heart to become concerned about theology in the church and the need for the Gospel to reach the nations. The simple point to be made here is that solid Bible training is becoming a thing of the past. Finding an institution that believes the Scriptures to be inerrant and teaches them to be inerrant (and these are two different points) is difficult to encounter.

I am blessed to have experienced life at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Their commitment to Scripture and the Great Commission is unparalleled. The faculty and staff have achieved a balance of rigorous academic training with passion to reach the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am still sad to leave SEBTS prematurely. The life of the school, the encouragement from peers and professors may never be experienced again.

Nevertheless, I entered SEBTS knowing that I would leave. But how would I leave? I left with confidence to handle the Scriptures and the Gospel. I left knowing that God is performing monumental things through SEBTS, but more importantly through local churches. Therefore, it is to this end which I will dedicate my life to the local church. The local church is the means for God to witness to the world and reach the nations. The local church matters. What the local church believes mattes. What the local church does to bring the Gospel to the nations matters. All of this matters, because God revealing himself to the lost . . . matters.

Thank you Southeastern for preparing me for what matters.
